More on the International Master of Sport Management

Marieke Enkt, student 2009-2010: “In this master you’ll meet individuals from various backgrounds who - once you start working together - have more in common with you than you initially thought. This way you learn – almost automatically – a lot in a short time. The ten months, in which we all studied and worked intensely, flew by. A wonderful experience. It is a program that demands a lot of initiative. It is a program for motivated sports people because, just like practicing elite sports, you won’t get results without efforts.”

Paul Toes, wheelchair basketball, student 2008-2009: “When I did the International Master of Sport Management I could balance studies perfectly well with sports. I trained every day and in between training I went twice a week to Amsterdam for classes. I also could play competition with a German club RSC Ösnabruck. Thanks to the flexibility of the program I could keep concentrating on my ultimate dream: participate at the Paralympics London 2012.”

Maud Mulder, student 2009-2010: “In this master you learn from professors with a tremendous amount of practical knowledge, directly derived from the sport sector. They are all professionals in their area of expertise, so enough chances to learn a lot. The master provides you with the tools you need when you want to start your own business or a project. This was for me the main reason to do the master. I wanted to get more insight knowledge on entrepreneurship. I am co-owner of a dance and music school, BeatZone, in Amsterdam. I teach people to sing and give musical classes, but I also have to handle day-to-day businesses.”

Jochem Schellens, Head Sport Centre Papendal NOC*NSF, student 2008-2009: “The 1 year Master was intense, full of information and learning experiences, but most of all really enjoyable. I’m still in touch with many classmates. What I liked the most was the exchange of thoughts and experiences with people from diverse backgrounds outside your own workplace but within sports.”
